RAMALLAH, January 14, 2026 (WAFA) — Vice President of the State of Palestine, Hussein Al-Sheikh, welcomed the efforts made by US President Donald Trump, Special Peace Envoy Steve Witkoff, Jared Kushner, Nickolay Mladenov, as well as Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey to move toward the second phase in the Gaza Strip and to form a Palestinian administrative committee there.

Al-Sheikh stressed on Wednesday the firm Palestinian position on the need to preserve the continuation of the cessation of the war, accelerate the entry of humanitarian aid and assistance, reopen crossings, begin recovery and reconstruction, ensure Israeli withdrawal, and safeguard the unity of the land and the people.
