Egyptian President, EU foreign policy chief stress full implementation of Gaza agreement and unhindered aid flow

CAIRO, January 10, 2026 (WAFA) — Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and the European Union’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas stressed the need for full implementation of the Gaza ceasefire agreement, ensuring regular and unrestricted flow of humanitarian aid into the enclave.

Egyptian presidential spokesperson Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy said in a statement that the meeting, held on Saturday between President el-Sisi, the EU representative and her accompanying delegation, discussed regional developments, particularly the latest situation in the Gaza Strip, as well as enhancing cooperation in combating terrorism and organized crime, and addressing irregular migration.

The statement also underscored the rejection of any attempts to displace the Palestinian people from their land, and emphasized the need to expedite the implementation of the second phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and post-war reconstruction in the Strip.

Both sides further stressed the importance of continuing efforts to resume the political process, with the aim of achieving a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in accordance with the two-state solution.
