CAIRO, January 4, 2026 (WAFA) - Vice President and Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Hussein al-Sheikh held separate meetings on Sunday in the Egyptian capital Cairo with Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty and Head of Egypt's General Intelligence Service (GIS Hassan Rashad, in the presence of Head of the Palestinian General Intelligence Service, Major General Majid Faraj.

During the two meetings, al-Sheikh updated the Egyptian officials on the latest developments concerning the Palestinian cause.

The talks also focused on ways to consolidate stability across the Palestinian Territory, advance the transition to the second phase of US President Donald Trump’s plan and relevant UN Security Council resolutions, and enhance coordination and consultation to address the challenges facing Palestine and the region.
