RAMALLAH, January 1, 2026 (WAFA) – A phone call took place today between President Mahmoud Abbas and Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam. During the call, the two leaders exchanged greetings on the occasion of the new year.
President Abbas expressed his pride in the historic and brotherly relations between Palestine and Lebanon, emphasizing the ongoing commitment to developing and enhancing these ties.
He also praised Lebanon's unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and the people's legitimate rights to freedom and independence. He wished that the new year would bring prosperity and stability to both Lebanon and Palestine, as well as to all the peoples of the region.
In response, Prime Minister Salam reaffirmed Lebanon’s steadfast position in support of the Palestinian cause and the right of the Palestinian people to achieve independence and establish their own state on their land.
