President Abbas meets leaders of Italy’s Green and Left Alliance in Rome

ROME, December 13, 2025 (WAFA) – President of the State of Palestine Mahmoud Abbas met on Saturday with Secretary General of Italy’s Green and Left Alliance Nicola Fratoianni and alliance spokesperson Angelo Bonelli at his residence in the Italian capital, Rome.

During the meeting, President Abbas reviewed the overall political developments in Palestine, particularly efforts to consolidate the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and to halt unilateral Israeli measures in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, which undermine the implementation of the two-state solution.

The President commended the alliance’s positions in support of the Palestinian cause and its backing of the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and to achieve freedom and independence in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions.

President Abbas was accompanied by PLO Executive Committee member Ziad Abu Amr, Presidential Advisor for Diplomatic Affairs Majdi Khaldi, and Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Italy Mona Abuamara.
