RAMALLAH, December 6, 2025 (WAFA) – The Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed Al-Yamahi, welcomed the positions of both the People's Republic of China and the French Republic, in which they affirmed the necessity of creating conducive conditions for the effective implementation of the two-state solution, as it is the only credible path to achieving just and lasting peace and security.

He also commended the two countries' endorsement of the "New York Declaration" issued last September, which was recently adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in a resolution concerning the settlement of the Palestinian question and the implementation of the two-state solution.

In a statement, the Speaker of the Arab Parliament also welcomed the emphasis on the need for the full implementation of the ceasefire agreement reached in Sharm El-Sheikh on October 9th, and the avoidance of any actions that could undermine it.

He further welcomed the reaffirmation by the two countries' leaders of the necessity for the rapid, safe, sustainable, and unhindered delivery of humanitarian aid to the entire Gaza Strip.

Al-Yamahi praised the Chinese president's announcement of $100 million in aid to the Palestinian people to alleviate the humanitarian suffering in the Gaza Strip.

He added that this aid embodies and extends China's honorable stance in strongly supporting the just cause of the Palestinian people in restoring their legitimate national rights.

He also commended China's tireless efforts with the international community to establish a complete and lasting ceasefire in Gaza, alleviate the humanitarian crisis, and reach a just political settlement to the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution.

The Speaker of Parliament affirmed that the positions of both China and France reflect their clear commitment to achieving a just peace, security, and stability in the region.

"This can only be achieved by fulfilling the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, foremost among them the establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with international law and the Arab Peace Initiative," he added.
