NEW YORK, December 5, 2025 (WAFA) – UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini on Friday saluted the UNGA overwhelming support to renew the Agency’s mandate for three years.

“I salute the overwhelming vote by the UN General Assembly to renew UNRWA's mandate for three years,” Lazzarini posted on X.  

He stressed that the resolution “reflects the broad solidarity of people across the world with Palestine Refugees.”

“It is also an acknowledgement of the international community’s responsibility to support the humanitarian and human development needs of Palestine Refugees pending a just and lasting solution to their decades-long plight,” he added.

 He stressed that “the vote needs now to be translated into a genuine commitment and matching resources to ensure the mandate is fulfilled.”
