President Abbas visits “Saved Treasures of Gaza” Exhibition at Arab World Institute in Paris

PARIS, November 12, 2025 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas, accompanied by his delegation, visited the “Saved Treasures of Gaza” exhibition at the Arab World Institute during his official visit to the French capital, Paris.

The President was welcomed by French Minister of Culture Rachida Dati, President of the Arab World Institute Jack Lang, Director-General of the Arab World Institute Shawqi Abdul Amir, and a number of the institute’s staff.

President Abbas received a detailed briefing on the exhibition, which showcases over 100 artifacts from the Gaza Strip, spanning various historical periods, with some pieces dating back 5,000 years.

President Abbas commended the efforts behind the exhibition, underlining its role in affirming the authenticity and deep-rooted heritage of the Palestinian people in their land, and emphasized the importance of such initiatives in highlighting the civilizational contributions of Palestinians throughout history.

The President concluded his visit with a meeting with Minister Dati, President of the Arab World Institute, and Director-General Shawqi Abdul Amir.

President Abbas left the institute to the applause and chants of “Freedom for Palestine” chanted by some of the visitors.
