PARIS, November 11, 2025 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas arrived on Monday evening to Paris on an official visit.

Upon arrival, President Abbas reviewed the guard of honor, as the national anthems of Palestine and France were played. He was received by France’s Minister of the Interior, Laurent Nuñez.

On Tuesday, President Abbas is scheduled to meet with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace and hold talks with the President of the French National Assembly, Yaël Braun-Pivet.

The visit comes as part of the efforts to coordinate positions between the Palestinian and French leaderships.

President Abbas is accompanied by PLO Executive Committee member Ziad Abu Amr, Presidential Advisor for Diplomatic Affairs Majdi Al-Khaldi, and Palestinian ambassador to Paris Hala Abu Hasira.

France on Monday recognised the State of Palestine at the United Nations General Assembly in New York City.
