RAMALLAH, October 21, 2025 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas received on Tuesday at the Presidential Headquarters in Ramallah the Head of the German Representative Office, Anke Schlimm.

During the meeting, Schlimm affirmed her country's political positions in support of peace, German efforts to achieve a ceasefire, provide humanitarian aid, and allocate additional funds in the coming period, in addition to holding government consultations early next month.

Schlimm emphasized the need for the Palestinian Authority to play a significant role in governance and security, with Arab and international support from the international stability force and the Peace Council.

She also affirmed Germany's readiness to co-sponsor, with Egypt, the organization of the International Conference for Recovery and Reconstruction, stressing the role of the Palestinian government and commending its plans and preparations in this regard.

For his part, the President thanked Germany for its positions and prominent role in supporting peace and stability, praising all humanitarian assistance and programs to support Palestinian institution-building, and reaffirming his commitment to all pledges made by the State of Palestine for reform.

The President emphasized the importance of strengthening and developing bilateral relations between Palestine and Germany, which will positively reflect on the friendly relations between the Palestinian and German peoples.
