President Abbas expresses gratitude to Algeria's counterpart

RAMALLAH, October 12, 2025 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas sent a letter to the President of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, expressing his deepest gratitude and appreciation for his courageous stances and for Algeria's honorable stances in supporting the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights.

The President praised the steadfast positions of Algeria, its leadership, government, and people, and its constant support for the Palestinian cause in all international forums, foremost among them the UN Security Council. He stressed that President Tebboune's repeated statements addressing the Palestinian issue reflect the authenticity of Algeria's position and its historical commitment to Palestine.

President Abbas affirmed that he followed with great appreciation President Tebboune's recent speech at the Ministry of National Defense headquarters, in which he reiterated Algeria's firm position rejecting any solutions or settlements that detract from the Palestinian people's rights to freedom, independence, and the establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

The President noted that Algeria was present in many of his speeches at international forums, including his address to the High-Level International Conference on the Peaceful Settlement of the Palestinian Question and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution in New York on September 22, 2025, and to the 34th Arab Summit held in Baghdad on May 17, 2025, where he praised Algeria's supportive role for Palestine and its important role in defending the Palestinian cause in the Security Council.

In his message, President Abbas wished President Tebboune success and the brotherly Algerian people continued good health, progress, and prosperity.
