RAMALLAH, October 1, 2025 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas expressed on Wednesday his appreciation for Egypt’s remarks in support of the Palestinian people’s just rights.
President Abbas commended Egypt for its remarks in support of ending Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza, halting the plans to annex the occupied West Bank, and preventing the forced displacement of Palestinians. He also commended his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah El-Sisi for his positions in support of the Palestinian people’s rights.
President Abbas made special reference to Egyptian Foreign Affairs Minister Badr Abdelatty’s remarks in the Munich Leaders Meeting in Al-Ula, Saudi Arabia.
In his remarks, Minister Abdelatty “welcomed the efforts of former US President Donald Trump to bring the war in Gaza to a halt, stressed the urgent need for the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from Gaza, the unimpeded entry of humanitarian aid, and the prevention of any annexation of the West Bank, which remains inseparably linked to Gaza, and the absolute rejection of any forced displacement of the Palestinian people from their land,” according to the State Information Service.
President Abbas deemed that these remarks fall in line with the international positions pushing towards an end to the Israeli war and bringing about peace.
