RAMALLAH, September 12, 2025 (WAFA) – Vice President of the State of Palestine, Hussein Al-Sheikh, welcomed the United Nations General Assembly's adoption of the draft resolution endorsing the New York Declaration on implementing the two-state solution and establishing an independent State of Palestine.

In a statement on Friday, Al-Sheikh said the resolution reflects international support for the rights of the Palestinian people and constitutes an important step toward ending the occupation and realizing an independent Palestinian state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He added that the growing international recognition of the State of Palestine provides a key foundation for safeguarding the Palestinian people's right to self-determination and ensuring the two-state solution, strengthening regional and international security and stability.
