TULKARM, June 3, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression on the city of Tulkarm and its camp for the 97th consecutive day, and on the 84th day in the Nur Shams camp, amid ongoing field escalation.
WAFA correspondent reported that the occupation forces continue to send military reinforcements, including vehicles and infantry units, to the city, its two camps, and its suburbs. These reinforcements include live ammunition and sound bombs, raids and searches of homes and shops, vandalizing their contents, and subjecting those present to interrogation, abuse, and detentions.
In a related development, the Tulkarm and Nur Shams refugee camps and their surroundings are witnessing a heavy deployment of occupation forces, firing live ammunition and sound bombs. This coincides with a tight siege of the camps, the closure of their entrances with earth mounds, and the accompanying raids and vandalism of homes.
On Friday, occupation forces pursued residents as they attempted to enter the camps to evacuate their belongings from their homes, which were threatened with demolition. They fired live ammunition at them, despite prior permission to enter. They detained dozens of residents, including women and children, and detained several young men, including two journalists.
This came after the occupation forces, last Thursday evening, notified the demolition of 106 buildings and homes in the two camps within 24 hours, including 58 buildings in Tulkarm camp and 48 homes in Nur Shams camp.
This comes at a time when the ongoing aggression against them, which has lasted 97 days, has led to the forced displacement of more than 4,200 families from Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps, comprising more than 25,000 citizens. The occupation forces have also completely destroyed 396 homes and partially destroyed 2,573 others, in addition to blocking their entrances and alleys with earth mounds.
The occupation forces continue to seize homes and residential buildings on Nablus Street and the adjacent northern neighborhood, converting them into military barracks after forcibly evacuating their residents. They have also stationed their vehicles and bulldozers in the vicinity.
The ongoing Israeli aggression and escalation against the city of Tulkarm and its two camps resulted in the killing of 13 Palestinian citizens, including a child and two women, one of whom was eight months pregnant. Meanwhile, dozens were also injured and detained.
