Occupation forces demolish residential building near Hebron

HEBRON, April 21, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation bulldozers demolished two homes in the town of Ni'lin, west of Ramallah, and a residential building in the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron, on Monday morning.

According to local sources, occupation forces stormed the town of Ni'lin and surrounded two homes belonging to siblings Nael and Raed Reda Surur before demolishing them under the pretext that they were built without a permit.

It should be noted that the two homes consist of three floors and were constructed several years ago.

In Beit Ummar, occupation bulldozers began demolishing a residential building located in the Wadi al-Wahdain area, south of Beit Ummar, opposite the Karmei Tzur colony, which was forcibly built on private land. The seven-story building, each with an area of 210 square meters, was under construction and owned by Mohammad Issa Hussein Alqam.

It's worth noting that the occupation authorities handed the building owner a demolition notice two months ago, giving him a 60-day deadline. However, the demolition was carried out before the deadline expired. It's also worth noting that 10 homes in the same area are also threatened with demolition, under the pretext of their proximity to Karmei Tzur colony.

For its part, the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission warned against the policy of demolishing citizens' homes, considering it an attempt to restrict Palestinian construction and natural growth in Palestinian villages and towns, under the pretext of lacking permits, to displace Palestinians and isolate them in narrow cantons and enclaves.

It's worth noting that the occupation authorities carried out 58 demolition operations during the month of March, affecting 87 structures, including 39 inhabited homes, 6 uninhabited homes, and 26 agricultural and other structures.

During the same period, 46 Palestinian facilities were notified of demolition orders.

The orders were concentrated in 20 in Tulkarm Governorate, followed by 8 in the Jenin Governorate, 6 in Bethlehem, and 6 in Hebron.

This comes as the Israeli occupation army continues its aggression against refugee camps, towns, and cities in the northern West Bank, which began on January 21.

In parallel with the genocidal war in the Gaza Strip, the occupation and its settlers have escalated their attacks in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, resulting in the deaths of more than 954 Palestinians, the injury of nearly 7,000, and the arrest of 16,400, according to official Palestinian sources.
