Several suffocation cases reported during Israeli military raid on Abu Dis east of Jerusalem

JERUSALEM, April 15, 2025 (WAFA) — Israeli occupation forces raided several neighborhoods in the town of Abu Dis southeast of occupied Jerusalem on Tuesday evening, detaining a Palestinian youth and causing multiple cases of suffocation.

According to local sources, the forces stormed a number of commercial shops, sealed off the surrounding area, and blocked vehicular traffic.

They also fired a barrage of stun grenades and tear gas canisters indiscriminately toward civilians, resulting in several cases of suffocation.

During the raid, Israeli forces pursued young men through alleys and residential areas, eventually detaining a youth from the courtyard of his home.

The town of Abu Dis has been subjected to near-daily incursions by Israeli forces, involving raids on homes and shops and the use of live ammunition, rubber bullets, and tear gas. Last week, Israeli forces also stormed the campus of Al-Quds University in Abu Dis, leaving around 30 students and staff suffering from tear gas inhalation.
