Four killed by Israeli airstrike as death toll in Gaza surges to 51,000 as the aggression continues

GAZA, April 15, 2025 (WAFA) – Three citizens were killed this Tuesday afternoon in Israeli shelling of the town of Beit Hanoun in the northern Gaza Strip and the city of Khan Yunis in the south.

WAFA correspondents reported, citing medical sources, that two citizens from Al-Masry family were killed when the Israeli shelling targeted a gathering of civilians in the town of Beit Hanoun.

The same sources added that a young man from Rafah died a short while ago from wounds he sustained yesterday when a tent was bombed west of Khan Yunis.

Meanwhile, a citizen was killed and others were injured on Tuesday afternoon when Israeli warplanes bombed the northern gate of the Kuwaiti Specialized Hospital in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.

Medical sources announced the death of a citizen and the injury of 10 others as a result of the Israeli bombing of the northern gate of the hospital.

In a related development, medical sources at the Al-Quds Hospital, affiliated with the Red Crescent, in Tel al-Hawa, Gaza City, announced the suspension of surgical operations and the return of doctors to using primitive methods to treat the wounded due to the shortage of medicines and medical supplies.

Medical sources warned of the worsening medicine shortage crisis in the Gaza Strip due to the tightened blockade and the closure of the crossings by the Israeli army, which has continued its war of extermination for a year and a half.

The medicine shortage crisis is hampering medical staff's ability to perform emergency interventions for patients and the wounded. Cancer, kidney failure, and heart patients are the most affected by the shortage of medicines and medical supplies.

Other items on the list of medicines are also threatened with depletion, meaning shortages of 37% of medicines and 59% of medical supplies are exacerbated.

It is worth noting that the occupation has previously deliberately destroyed 34 hospitals, putting them out of service as part of a systematic plan to eliminate what remains of the health sector in the Gaza Strip.

It has also targeted dozens of medical centers and health institutions, in flagrant violation of all international agreements and the Geneva Conventions, which prohibit the targeting of medical facilities.

They said that the Palestinian death toll from the Israeli onslaught since October 2023 has risen to 51,000 fatalities, with an additional 116,343 individuals sustaining injuries. The majority of the victims are women and children.

Emergency services are still unable to reach many casualties and dead bodies trapped under the rubble or scattered on roads across the war-torn enclave, as Israeli occupation forces continue to target ambulance and civil defense crews, according to the same sources.

Israel's genocidal onslaught continues undeterred despite calls from the United Nations Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
