JERUSALEM, April 11, 2025 (WAFA) - Israeli occupation forces summoned Sheikh Mohammad Saleem, the imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque, for interrogation after Friday prayers.
According to the Jerusalem Governorate, the summons was issued following Sheikh Saleem's prayer for the people of Gaza during his sermon. Israeli police detained him near Bab al-Ghawanmeh, one of the mosque's gates, and handed him the summons.
The Israeli occupation authorities later issued a ban on the Imam's entry to Al-Aqsa Mosque for one week, with the condition that he returns after one week for the renewal of the order.
