RAMALLAH, April 8, 2025 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Presidency stated that the Israeli occupation's continued construction of the so-called Morag corridor to separate Rafah City from the rest of the Gaza Strip, consolidate its permanent control over the Strip, and divide it into isolated enclaves, in preparation for displacement, constitutes a violation of all international legitimacy resolutions and international law, which affirm that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the Palestinian territory occupied in 1967.
The Presidency indicated that these condemned and rejected Israeli plans reveal the occupation's true intentions to prolong its aggression against our people and our land, in order to expand its settlement policy and steal Palestinian land.
It stressed the need to halt attacks in the West Bank, especially against cities, villages, and camps in the northern West Bank. For the 78th day, the occupation forces continue their aggression against the Jenin Governorate and its camp, and for the 72nd day, they continue their aggression against the Tulkarm Governorate and its two camps, as well as the rest of the West Bank camps. They also implement a policy of mass killing, arrests, and demolitions of homes, camps, and infrastructure in Palestinian cities.
The Presidency called on the United States to compel the occupying state to halt its aggression, allow aid to be delivered to end the famine, and fully withdraw from the Gaza Strip, enabling the State of Palestine to assume its full responsibilities to begin the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
The Presidency reiterated its call on Hamas to assume its responsibilities, adhere to the official Palestinian position and Arab initiatives, and refrain from making any irresponsible decisions to spare our people the scourge of this aggression, which has so far led to the killing of more than 50,000 citizens and the wounding of more than 115,000. The Presidency also called on Hamas to refrain from giving the occupation any excuses to continue its genocidal war, such as the hostage issue, which Israel exploits to commit further massacres, the latest of which was the massacre of Palestinian Red Crescent paramedics who were deliberately killed.
