Israeli authorities deny entry to two British MPs

TEL AVIV, April 6, 2025 (WAFA) — Israeli authorities denied entry to British Members of Parliament, Yuan Yang and Abtisam Mohamed, late last night, after their flight from Luton arrived in Israel. They were accompanied by two assistants as part of an official parliamentary delegation.

British Foreign Secretary David Lammy confirmed the incident, stating that Israeli authorities detained the two MPs and prevented them from entering the country.

In a statement on X, Lammy expressed his dismay, saying, "It is unacceptable, counterproductive, and deeply concerning that two British MPs on a parliamentary delegation to Israel have been detained and refused entry by the Israeli authorities."

He continued, "I have made clear to my counterparts in the Israeli government that this is no way to treat British Parliamentarians, and we have been in contact with both MPs tonight to offer our support."

The British Foreign Secretary further emphasized that the British government's current focus is on ensuring a return to a ceasefire, resuming negotiations to stop the bloodshed, and bringing an end to the war in Gaza.
