Two Lebanese killed in Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon

BEIRUT, March 27, 2025 (WAFA) – Two Lebanese were killed today in an Israeli drone strike targeting a vehicle in the southern Lebanese town of Baraachit, according to the Lebanese Ministry of Health. The ministry confirmed the fatalities in a statement.

Earlier reports from Anadolu Agency, citing eyewitness accounts, stated that an Israeli drone struck a car in Baraachit, which is located in the Bint Jbeil district of southern Lebanon.

The latest strikes bringing the total number of fatalities from three Israeli air raids on southern Lebanon to six killed and two wounded since the early hours of the day. Despite a ceasefire agreement in place since November 27, 2024, Israeli forces have continued to target areas in southern Lebanon, further heightening tensions.

Since the ceasefire came into effect, Israel has committed 1,289 violations of the agreement, leading to at least 108 fatalities and 335 injuries, according to official statistics cited by Anadolu Agency.

In addition to these attacks, Israeli forces have recently begun constructing a security buffer zone extending one to two kilometers inside Lebanese territory.
