NABLUS, March 27, 2025 (WAFA) – Hundreds of Palestinians today broke their fast on the 27th day of Ramadan at the Israeli military checkpoint of Beit Furik, east of Nablus, according to eyewitnesses.
Israeli occupation forces stationed at the Beit Furik checkpoint blocked dozens of vehicles as residents were returning to their homes in Nablus and other areas. The forces prevented them from passing through the checkpoint, forcing many to break their fast with whatever food was available at the checkpoint.
The Nablus governorate is one of the worst affected by Israeli checkpoints in the West Bank, with the Israeli military setting up more than ten checkpoints around the city. The Beit Furik checkpoint is considered one of the most challenging checkpoints for Palestinian drivers and commuters, who often have to spend hours before being allowed to go.
