TULKAREM, March 26, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces continue their aggression on the city of Tulkarem and its refugee camp for the 59th consecutive day, and on the Nur Shams refugee camp for the 46th day, amid ongoing military escalation, heavy reinforcements, forced displacement of residents and detentions.
WAFA correspondent reported that Israeli forces have intensified their military onslaught on the city of Tulkarem and its refugee camps, deploying large reinforcements of armored vehicles and bulldozers to the Tulkarem and Nur Shams camps, while maintaining a tight siege.
In the same context, Israeli forces detained several Palestinian citizens at dawn today after raiding their homes in the city and its suburbs. The raids included extensive searches and ransacking of homes.
In Tulkarem camp, Israeli forces forced the remaining families in the Al-Hadaida and Al-Rubayia neighborhoods to flee their homes at gunpoint, as part of the growing wave of displacement affecting the neighborhoods on the camp's outskirts.
In Nur Shams camp, the occupation forces reinforced their military presence by sending vehicles and bulldozers to Jabal al-Nasr, amid an ongoing siege. The forces seized dozens of homes and turned them into military outposts after forcing the residents to flee.
As part of the ongoing aggression, Israeli forces have also seized 10 residential buildings in the northern neighborhood near Nablus Street, which include dozens of apartments. After forcing residents to leave, the buildings were converted into military outposts, and the area was declared a closed military zone.
Additionally, the occupation forces increased their military presence on Nablus Street, closing parts of it with earth mounds and setting up temporary checkpoints that restrict vehicle movement, conducting lengthy stops to inspect vehicles and hold passengers while checking their identity cards.
At dawn, Israeli forces stormed the town of Ramin east of Tulkarem, deploying foot patrols in the town and its plain while sending additional reinforcements. The area was subjected to searches and sweeps, however, no detentions were reported. As a result of the ongoing escalation by Israeli forces in the city of Tulkarem and its camps, 13 Palestinian citizens, including a child and two women—one of whom was eight months pregnant—have been killed. Dozens have been injured and detained, and more than 4,000 families have been forcibly displaced from the Tulkarem and Nur Shams camps, along with dozens of families from the northern neighborhood of the city.
The aggression has also caused widespread destruction, affecting infrastructure, homes, commercial shops and vehicles, which have been either completely or partially demolished, burned, damaged, looted, or stolen.
A total of 396 homes were completely destroyed, and 2,573 homes were partially destroyed in Tulkarem and Nur Shams camps. Additionally, the entrances and alleys of these camps were closed with earth mounds.
