HEBRON, March 24, 2025 (WAFA) – Four Palestinians Monday evening sustained injuries in an attack by Israeli colonists on Susya village, south of the occupied West Bank city of Hebron, according to a local source.
Jehad an-Nawaj‘a, head of Susya Village Council, said that armed colonists encroached upon the lands of the village and attempted to steal sheep.
The assailants, who came from the nearby Israeli colony of Susiya, attacked the villagers who fended off the attack, injuring four, simultaneously while opening gunfire in the air and vandalizing villagers’ properties, including water tanks and vehicles.
An-Nawaj‘a added that Israeli occupation forces prevented ambulances from reaching the wounded.
Meanwhile, Osama Makhamra, an anti-settler-colonialism activist, said that colonists mounted an attack on the house of Saddam Abu Qubeita in the Ishkara area, southeast of the city of Yatta, hurling stones at his house and beating him up.
Abu Qubieta suffered bruises and received treatment at the scene.
Colonists’ violence against Palestinians and their property is routine in the West Bank and is rarely prosecuted by Israeli authorities.
Colonists’ violence includes property and mosque arsons, stone-throwing, uprooting of crops and olive trees, and attacks on vulnerable homes, among others.
Approximately 1 million Israeli colonists are living in colonies in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in violation of international law.
