TULKARM, March 24, 2025 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation continues its aggression on the city of Tulkarm and its camp for the 57th consecutive day, and on the Nur Shams camp for the 44th day, amid military reinforcements and the forced displacement of residents.
WAFA correspondent reported that after midnight, the occupation forces dispatched military reinforcements, including heavy machinery and bulldozers, accompanied by police vehicles, to the city and its two camps, amidst the hovering of helicopters and reconnaissance aircraft in the skies above the area.
They also deployed their equipment around the Nur Shams camp and in the Manshiyya neighborhood, amid a tight siege of the camp. The occupation forces have also seized dozens of homes and converted them into military barracks after forcing their residents to evacuate.
The occupation forces continue to force the remaining residents of several neighborhoods in Tulkarm camp to leave their homes by threatening to demolish and burn them while they are still inside. This is particularly true in the neighborhoods on the outskirts of the camp, namely Al-Hadaida, Al-Matar, Al-Raba'a, Qaqoun, and Marbat Hanoun. This has led to a wave of forced displacement of residents.
Israeli occupation forces also stormed the Shuweika and Dhinaba neighborhoods, north of the city, and east of it, using heavy machinery and bulldozers. They patrolled the streets and neighborhoods, obstructing the movement of vehicles and civilians.
At the same time, Israeli occupation forces continued to seize more than eight residential buildings in the vicinity of the traffic circle in the northern neighborhood adjacent to Nablus Street in Tulkarm. These buildings house dozens of apartments, forcibly evacuating their residents, transforming them into military barracks and transforming the area into a closed military zone.
They also intensified their military presence on Nablus Street, closing off parts of it with earth mounds, amid measures restricting vehicle movement by stopping and searching vehicles and detaining passengers for extended periods after checking their IDs.
The ongoing escalation by the occupation forces in the city of Tulkarm and its two camps has resulted in the killing of 13 citizens, including a child and two women, one of whom was eight months pregnant. Dozens more have been injured and arrested, and more than 24,000 people have been forcibly displaced from the Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps, along with dozens of families from the city's northern neighborhood.
The aggression has also caused widespread destruction, including the total and partial demolition of homes, shops, and vehicles, as well as burning, vandalizing, looting, and theft. The entrances and alleys of the camps have also been closed off with earth mounds.
