NEW YORK, March 12, 2025 (WAFA) – The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaya Kallas, stressed that the two-state solution remains the only way to achieve lasting peace and security in the Middle East.
During an annual session of the UN Security Council on cooperation between the United Nations and the European Union in maintaining international peace and security last night, Kallas said that the European Union supports diplomatic efforts through the "International Coalition for the Two-State Solution."
The European official pointed to the EU mission at the Rafah border crossing, explaining that it is a tangible contribution to supporting the ceasefire agreement on the ground. She affirmed the EU's absolute rejection of any attempts to introduce changes to the ground or demographic composition of Gaza or any other region in the world.
Kallas also welcomed the Arab plan for recovery and reconstruction presented at the Arab League summit in Cairo, which was also endorsed by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, announcing that the EU will study these ideas with its Arab partners.
