Palestinian sustains injury from Israeli army gunfire in southern West Bank

HEBRON, March 5, 2025 (WAFA) – A Palestinian Wednesday sustained an injury from Israeli army gunfire in the al-Arroub refugee camp, north of the occupied West Bank city of Hebron, according to WAFA correspondent.

He said that Israeli occupation forces opened barrages of live ammunition and tear gas canisters toward local protestors in the course of confrontations, hitting a young man with live ammunition in the hand and lower extremities and causing dozens to suffocate from excessive tear gas inhalation.

He added that the suffocation casualties received treatment at the scene.

The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids are conducted without a search warrant whenever and wherever the military chooses, in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
