TUBAS, March 3, 2025 (WAFA) – The Israeli occupation forces continued the closure of the Tayasir checkpoint east of Tubas for the 27th consecutive day, severely disrupting daily life in all its aspects across the northern Jordan Valley.
According to local sources, the ongoing closure has effectively blocked the movement of thousands of Palestinians traveling between Tubas and the Jordan Valley.
The prolonged blockade has had a severe impact on education, commerce and social life in the northern Jordan Valley. Residents are now forced to endure long hours of waiting at the Hamra checkpoint, which is the only alternative route to the Jordan Valley, to reach their workplaces and daily destinations.
Tayasir is one of two primary checkpoints that connect the occupied West Bank to the Jordan Valley. The Israeli occupation established it at the onset of the Al-Aqsa Intifada in the early 2000s, turning it into a major obstacle to Palestinian movement in the area.
