RAMALLAH, February 27, 11, 2025 (WAFA) – For the thirty-eighth consecutive day, the Israeli occupation continues its brutal offensive against the city of Jenin and its camp, resulting in the killing of 27 Palestinians and causing several injuries.
The onslaught further also caused widespread and massive destruction of infrastructure and local properties.
Jenin governor Kamal Abu al-Rab said that the ongoing occupation offensive has led to heavy losses amounting to 20 million shekels per day, especially with the continued closure of the Jalameh military checkpoint in front of the Palestinian people from within the 1948 territories,
Abu al-Rab noted that the fate of about 6,000 students studying at the Arab American University is unknown, in light of the occupation continuing to prevent them from reaching the university, in addition to preventing workers from going to their places of work.
He added that the occupation is trying to completely change the features of the camp, as it has deliberately carried out excavations 3 meters deep in the ground, with the aim of building towers around Jenin camp.
Abu al-Rab pointed out that since the first day of its aggression, the occupation has sought to change the map of the camp by creating new streets in it and expanding other streets, in addition to demolishing entire neighborhoods of it.
He also said that the occupation's forcing of the residents of Jenin camp to leave and evacuate it is a prelude to its long-term stay inside the camp.
This morning, the occupation forces took measurements of the house of the slain Palestinian Islam Khamisa in preparation for its demolition.
Last night, the occupation forces attacked a number of young men in the vicinity of Yahya Ayyash roundabout in the city of Jenin, while the occupation forces pushed armored vehicles to the vicinity of the camp, push further reinforcements accompanied by bulldozers to the camp, amid the flight of warplanes,
Meanwhile, the soldiers also bulldozed and razed the vicinity of the martyrs' cemetery in the camp.
The occupation continued its movements with tanks on the outskirts of Jenin camp, specifically in the al-Jairiyat neighborhood and near the al-Assir Mosque and other neighborhoods of the camp.
The UNRWA Commissioner-General had said in a press statement yesterday, that the West Bank had become a battlefield after the occupation killed 50 civilians in five weeks.
He added that the West Bank is witnessing serious repercussions of the Gaza war, and that the citizens are the first to suffer from these repercussions, calling for an immediate end to the occupation's aggression.
The occupation continued to set fire to several homes inside Jenin camp, bulldoze roads, and expand other roads. The occupation soldiers also continue to prevent and pursue citizens who are trying to reach their homes inside it to take their necessary supplies such as clothes and blankets, especially in light of the cold weather conditions and the approach of the holy month of Ramadan.
The displaced people face great difficulties as they continue to be displaced from their homes for the 38th day, as the residents fear that they will remain outside their homes throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
The occupation prevented local and international press crews from entering the camp to monitor the destruction and devastation inside it, and to cover the occupation's practices against citizens.
He added that the occupation forces also turned several houses and buildings inside the camp into military points.
