JERICHO, February 26, 2025 (WAFA) – Israeli occupation forces Wednesday evening detained four Palestinians from al-Auja town, north of Jericho in the Jordan Valley, according to the Palestine Prisoner’s Society (PPS).
PPS Officer Eid Barahma said that the occupying forces barged their way into the town and rounded up four people, including a woman.
Meanwhile, local sources said that the occupying troops conducted a raid in Nabi Saleh village, northwest of Ramallah.
In the course of ensuing confrontations, Israeli troops fired barrages of live gunfire and tear gas canisters toward the villagers, without resulting in any casualties.
Meanwhile, security forces confirmed separate two raids in the villages of Qibya and Deir Abu Mashaal, located to the west and northwest of Ramallah respectively.
There was no immediate information on any injuries or detention cases.
The occupation forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost daily across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for “wanted” Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.
These raids are conducted without a search warrant whenever and wherever the military chooses, in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.
Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative, and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
