RAMALLAH, February 6, 2025 (WAFA) – A European Union's foreign policy spokesman said that the Gaza Strip must be an integral part of a future Palestinian state, and that the Union is committed to the two-state solution.
He added that "the European Union remains strongly committed to the two-state solution and believes that it is the only path to long-term peace for both Israelis and Palestinians."
The European spokesman continued: "Gaza is an integral part of a future Palestinian state."
US President Donald Trump said during a press conference in Washington with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu late on Tuesday that the US “will take over” Gaza after relocating Palestinians elsewhere under an extraordinary redevelopment plan that he claimed could turn the enclave into “the Riviera of the Middle East.”
Trump’s proposal came after the ceasefire agreement took effect in Gaza on January 19, pausing Israel’s genocidal assault on the enclave which has killed over 47,500 Palestinians and injured more than 111,000, according to Palestinian Health Ministry.
