NEW YORK, February 4, 2025 (WAFA) - Ambassador Fu Cong, Permanent Representative of China and President of the Security Council for February 2025, said during a press conference on the program of work for February that the Gaza situation remains fragile, and the Council needs to ensure full implementation of the ceasefire agreement and unhindered humanitarian access.
He also highlighted reports of the Israeli military attacks on Sunday, 2 February, against residential blocks in Jenin, stating that the Council is considering a possible meeting to address this.
He stressed that the Council will pay close attention to the challenges facing the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
“The Middle East will remain a priority on the Council's agenda this month,” he said.
