RAMALLAH, January 22, 2025 (WAFA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates affirmed that following directives from President Mahmoud Abbas and guidance from Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa, intensified efforts are underway at all levels in coordination with Palestinian embassies and missions worldwide to exert pressure on the occupation to end its crimes and curb the violent actions of its colonists against the Palestinian people.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the ministry condemned the ongoing Israeli aggression on Jenin and its refugee camp, including the forced displacement of families, collective punishment, destruction of infrastructure, extrajudicial killings and the systematic vandalism of civilian properties.
The ministry stressed that this aggression is part of a deliberate Israeli strategy aimed at consolidating the occupation, imposing Israeli sovereignty, and advancing the gradual annexation of the West Bank, including Jerusalem. It denounced these measures as a clear manifestation of Israel's colonial expansionist agenda.
It has become increasingly clear that the Israeli government is fabricating justifications and pretexts to sustain violence and thwart any opportunity to implement the prevailing international consensus on the two-state solution, stressed the ministry.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated that the occupation is exploiting the international failure to implement UN resolutions on the Palestinian cause to deepen colonization and alter the political, historical and legal realities in the West Bank for racist colonial purposes.
The Ministry called on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) to assume its legal and moral obligations in addressing the suffering of the Palestinian people.
It demanded the adoption of binding measures against the occupying power to compel adherence to the international will for peace, including the prompt initiation of a genuine and substantive political process that would lead to the cessation of the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories, as the sole pathway to securing regional and global stability, security and prosperity.
