WHO plans to bring in an unspecific number of filed hospitals to support Gaza's devastated health sector

GENEVA, January 17, 2025 (WAFA) – The World Health Organization (WHO) representative for the Occupied Palestinian Territory, Rik Peeperkorn, announced on Friday that the organization plans to bring in an unspecified number of field hospitals to support Gaza’s devastated health sector.

In a press statement issued in Geneva, Peeperkorn explained that, under the terms of the ceasefire agreement, aid deliveries to Gaza could be significantly increased, with approximately 600 trucks expected to enter the Strip daily.

He expressed confidence that this increase is highly feasible, especially when additional border crossings are opened.

The organization's plans aim to address the urgent medical needs in Gaza, where health infrastructure has been severely impacted as a result of the 15-month long relentless Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.
