RAMALLAH, Monday, June 24, 2024 (WAFA) – The Palestinian Higher Education Council during a meeting held today under the chairmanship of the Minister of Education and Higher Education, Amjad Barham, at the ministry’s headquarters, discussed ways to secure the enrolment of Gaza high school students in the summer semester as visiting students in West Bank.
The Council discussed several other topics related to enhancing the quality of the Palestinian education sector, and its outputs.
The Minister explained that about 57,000 students from the Gaza Strip have enrolled in West Bank universities for the summer semester, affirming ongoing efforts by the ministry and Council to secure their enrollment and overcome any obstacles they might face.
He praised the effort made by the universities of Gaza to resume education electronically, despite the ongoing genocide committed by the Israeli occupation, which embodies the image of Palestinians clinging to knowledge, as well as steadfastness and survival on their land.
Barham affirmed that the ministry has prepared plans for the resumption of education in the Strip, underscoring the massive damage inflicted upon educational facilities as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression.
