Weather: Significant rise in temperature

RAMALLAH, Thursday, June 01, 2023 (WAFA) – Weather in Palestine today is hot and dry with a significant rise in temperature, becoming 5°C above its annual average, according to the Palestinian Meteorological Department (PMD).

Wind is northwesterly, light to active at times. Sea waves are medium.

Temperature in the capital, Jerusalem, and Bethlehem is expected to reach a high of 32°C and a low of 25°C, and in Ramallah and Hebron a high of 31°C and a low of 24°C. In Jericho, the Dead Sea, and the Jordan Valley temperature is expected to reach a high of 40°C and a low of 28°C, while it is expected to reach a high of 32°C and a low of 26°C in Gaza and the coastal areas.

Very hot and dusty conditions are expected on Friday, with another significant rise in temperature, approaching 8°C above its annual average. Light scattered rain showers are expected on some areas.

Saturday’s weather is expected to be partially cloudy and relatively hot to hot with a significant drop in temperature while remaining 4°C above the seasonal average.

Partially cloudy to clear and mild conditions are expected to prevail on Sunday, with a drop in temperature, becoming around its annual average.

PMD warned people against direct exposure to the sunlight for long periods, especially during peak hours from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM during the heat wave and setting fire to dry grass.
