RIYADH, Saturday, May 27, 2023 (WAFA) – Lots were drawn today for the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF) Championship, which will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on June 1 and 2, with the participation of Palestine.
The drawing of lots, which was aired live via the Al-Ittihad TV channel on YouTube, resulted in the distribution of the six participating teams into two groups. The first group includes Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Palestine, while the second one includes the teams of Kuwait, Oman and Lebanon.
During the draw, the latest international classification was relied upon to distribute the participating teams into 3 levels, with the first level including Saudi Arabia and Kuwait. The second level includes Qatar and Oman, while the third includes Lebanon and Palestine.
The tournament is organized by the West Asian Football Federation, and is played according to the system 2 against 2.
