Israel orders demolition of three homes in Bethlehem

BETHLEHEM, Sunday, February 27, 2022 (WAFA) - Israeli occupation forces ordered today the demolition of three homes, a livestock barn and retaining walls in the village of Al-Walaja in the occupied West Bank province Bethlehem, according to local sources.

Ibrahim Awad, a local Palestinian activist, told WAFA that an Israeli army force broke into the village and handed notifications ordering the demolition of three homes that are currently under construction. The three homes belong to three local residents.

The area where the structures are located is classified as Area C, the more than two-thirds of the occupied West Bank under full Israeli military and civil control, and where the Israeli occupation authorities almost never grant construction permits to Palestinians, forcing many of them to start construction without getting a permit in order to fulfill their housing demands.
