RAMALLAH, Tuesday, November 30, 2021 (WAFA) – Israeli forces Tuesday overnight detained at least 14 Palestinians from various parts of the West Bank, according to local and security sources.

They said that Israeli forces rounded up three Palestinians after breaking into and ransacking their houses in Silwad town, northeast of Ramallah.

The soldiers also rounded up three others from Kafr Ni'ma village, northwest of Ramallah.

In the northern West Bank, the sources confirmed a similar raid in Meithalun town, south of Jenin city, resulting in the detention of another.

In Jerusalem district, the soldiers forcibly entered a house and detained another in Biddu village, northwest of the city.

In the southern West Bank, Israeli forces conducted separate raids in Tuqu‘ town, east of Bethlehem, and al-Zaytouna area, west of Beit Jala city, resulting in the detention of two others.

Elsewhere in the southern West Bank, the soldiers barged their way into Halhul town, north of Hebron , where they detained another.

They also rounded up two others; one from Hebron city and the other, a former prisoner, from Beit Kahel village, northwest of the city.

Still in Hebron district, the soldiers re-arrested a former prisoner after storming and searching his house in Iskan Al Baladiyah neighborhood.

They also showed up at a prisoner’s family house in the Abu Kteileh neighborhood, muscled in the house and searched it, turning it upside down before seizing the prisoner’s vehicle.

The prisoner was identified as 37-year-old Hijazi ‘Ali al-Jada‘ Qawasma, a father of four children and a cancer-stricken patient.

Israeli forces frequently raid Palestinian houses almost on a daily basis across the West Bank on the pretext of searching for "wanted" Palestinians, triggering clashes with residents.

These raids, which take place also in areas under the full control of the Palestinian Authority, are conducted with no need for a search warrant, whenever and wherever the military chooses in keeping with its sweeping arbitrary powers.

Under Israeli military law army commanders have full executive, legislative and judicial authority over 3 million Palestinians living in the West Bank. Palestinians have no say in how this authority is exercised.
