NABLUS, Wednesday, July 14, 2021 (WAFA) – In their ongoing war against trees in the occupied Palestinian territories, Israeli settlers today chopped more than 150 fully grown olive trees in the northern West Bank village of Burin, south of the city of Nablus, according to a local official.
Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors Israeli settlement activities in the north of the West Bank, said settlers from the illegal settlement of Yitzhar chopped the 150 olive trees planted in a land owned by two local citizens.
Olive trees are a main source of income for hundreds of Palestinian households in the West Bank, who anxiously wait for the olive harvest season that starts in the autumn.
Settlers are never prosecuted for vandalizing Palestinian property or harming Palestinian civilians.
