BRUSSELS, Friday, December 11, 2020 (WAFA) – A number of Belgian activists and representatives of institutions, associations and trade unions held a protest today in front of the Israeli embassy in Brussels in condemnation of the Israeli occupation's continuing policy of colonization and its violations of the rights of the Palestinian people.
The protesters waved banners and slogans condemning the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories, and calling on the international community to stand up to its responsibilities for what is happening in Palestine.
Addressing the protesters, Belgian MP Simon Moutqui said, "The Israeli government's continuing policy of home demolitions and the continuous settlement colonization, the destruction of universities and hospitals and the siege of Gaza have been condemned in the United Nations, but were unfortunately not followed by real sanctions in accordance with international law and the rules of the Geneva Conventions."
Belgian Senator Pierre Galland also addressed the protesters, and affirmed that the institutions and political forces of his country will continue to support the Palestinian cause until the Palestinian people gain their inalienable and just rights.
