RAMALLAH, October 22, 2013 (WAFA) – Israeli soldiers raided the Ramallah area village of Kufr Nimeh early Tuesday to arrest activists and in the pursuit shot and killed one Palestinian, according to residents.

They said Muhammad Assi, 25, was shot and killed after he took refuge in a cave outside the village following the army raid.

Abdullah Abu Rahmeh, from the nearby village of Bilin, said that a large army force raided the two villages to arrest people.

He said exchange of gunfire was heard in the area and later reports said the soldiers have killed Assi, who is from the village of Beit Liqya and arrested three other people from Bilin.

The army also used bulldozers to raze land between the two villages destroying in the process a number of olive trees.

People said the army closed off the area of its operation and would not allow ambulances to reach it.

Residents also clashed with soldiers in Bilin. Soldiers fired tear gas and rubber bullets at the people injuring a number of them.
