WASHINGTON, October 8, 2013 (WAFA) – The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) succeeded in getting a US bank to remove a sign that called on visitors to remove “hats, hoods, headgear and sunglasses,” an ADC press release said on Monday.
It said ADC contacted Century Savings Bank to demand the
removal of the controversial sign which included a picture of Muslim woman with
a headcover asking it “to respect the fundamental freedom of those practicing
religions requiring head coverings.”
A bank spokesperson announced on Friday that they have removed the sign and they are in the process of reviewing their policies, said ADC.
