Police says no Shots Fired at Station

RAMALLAH, September 10, 2013 (WAFA) – A statement by the police denied Tuesday reports that shots were fired at a police station in Um al-Sharayet neighborhood of al-Bireh/Ramallah and that five police officers were injured.

The statement said these reports were unfounded and that what happened was that shots were heard in Um al-Sharayet not aimed at any police station in the area and therefore there were no hits among its forces.

It said the police were investigating the incident and searching for the shooters to bring them to justice.

Reports claimed that gunmen opened fire from a car at Um al-Sharayet police station Monday night injuring five officers who were admitted to hospital after police had intervened to stop a fight in Amari refugee camp in Ramallah.
