JERUSALEM, September 10, 2013 (WAFA) – Close to 150 Jewish fanatics led by a rabbi “toured” the yards of al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem’s Old City Tuesday carrying a map and listening to their rabbi telling them about the Jewish temples that allegedly existed on that mound thousands of years ago, according to witnesses.

They said this act, carried under heavy police protection, provoked the hundreds of Muslims present inside the yards of al-Aqsa compound, who tried to protest the presence of the Jewish fanatics on the Muslim holy site.

Fanatic Jewish groups have called on their followers to converge on al-Aqsa compound this month as Jews celebrate a number of holidays in order to create a permanent presence for Jews in the all-Muslim site.

These groups have also called on the police and government to open the compound for Jews on Saturday to hold Jewish rituals as they mark Yom Kippur (Day of Repentance), considered the most sacred day in Judaism.

An Israeli parliament committee has approved in an unprecedented move opening the yards of al-Aqsa Mosque for Jews to hold rituals inside it during this month.

Police Commission Yohanan Danino have also called for allowing Jewish prayer inside the Muslim holy place creating concern that this move could lead to violence.
