RAMALLAH, June 30, 2013 (WAFA) – Gross Domestic Product
(GDP) in the Palestinian Territory increased by 2.7% to reach $1,180 million
for the West Bank and $464 million for the Gaza Strip during the first quarter
of 2013 compared to the first quarter of 2012, a press report by the
Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) said on Sunday.
However, GDP decreased by 5.1% when compared to fourth
quarter 2012, it said.
In the West Bank, GDP increased by 0.6% compared to first
quarter of 2012, while it increased by 12.2% in Gaza.
GDP per capita for the Palestinian Territory was $399 during
first quarter 2013, a decrease by 0.3% when compared to first quarter 2012,
said PCBS.
GDP per capita was $483 in the West Bank, a decrease by 3.3%
compared to first quarter 2012, while in the Gaza Strip it was $276, an
increase by 8.4% during the same period.
