CAIRO, July 17, 2012 (WAFA) –The Arab League decided Tuesday to form an international committee to probe the death of the late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat.
The Arab League appointed its Assistant Secretary-General for Palestinian Affairs Mohammad Sbeih and head of the legal department as members of the committee, which will be headed by the Arab League’s Deputy Secretary General Ahmad Bin Hali.
Arafat’s death was brought into question in light of a recent report on al-Jazeera which concluded that Arafat has died by poisoning after traces of polonium, a radioactive material, were found on his belongings.
