RAMALLAH, June 6, 2012 (WAFA) – President Mahmoud Abbas and Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal will meet on June 20 to discuss the new unity cabinet, Fatah official Azzam al-Ahmad said Wednesday.
He told Voice of Palestine radio that Fatah and Hamas delegations will discuss in Cairo on Wednesday, and for the first time, names of the cabinet members, but the final decision on the names and the cabinet will be decided in the Abbas-Meshaal meeting.
He described the Cairo meeting as a step on the road to achieve reconciliation based on the Egyptian paper.
Ahmad, who heads Fatah delegation to the reconciliation talks with Hamas, said Abbas will consult various political factions on the cabinet formation.
Ahmad denied reports that there was a conflict over the finance and interior ministries as well as on Abbas’ security authority. He said these reports were not true at all.
