RAMALLAH, June 3, 2012 (WAFA) - The value of constructing new buildings and additions in the Palestinian Territory increased to reach $889.8 million in 2011, according to a survey by Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics (PCBS) on Sunday.
It showed that the cost of current maintenance of existing buildings was $191.4 million in 2011; $150.2 million in the West Bank and $41.2 million in the Gaza Strip.
Capital repairs and improvements to existing buildings totaled $446.5 million in 2011: $358.7 million in the West Bank and $87.8 million in the Gaza Strip, it added.
The results also indicated that the value of constructing new buildings and additions in the Palestinian Territory increased by 30.8% compared to 2010.
The cost of current maintenance of existing buildings increased by 21.8% compared to 2010, while the cost value of capital additions, repairs and improvements to buildings increased by 40.0% in 2011 compared to 2010.
