Palestinian Injured in Air Attack Dies of Wounds

GAZA, June 2, 2012 (WAFA) – A Palestinian who was critically injured in an Israeli air strike on Friday on Abasan, east of Khan Younis in the Gaza Strip, died late Friday of his wounds, according to medical sources.

Naji Qdeih, 32, was hit by a rocket fired from an Israeli drone shortly after a Palestinian fighter had penetrated the highly secured borders between Gaza and Israel and killed an Israeli soldier before he was shot and killed.

The fighter was identified as Ahmad Abu Nasr, 21, member of the Islamic Jihad’s military wing. The Israelis returned his body later in the day to the Palestinians.

In revenge for the attack, an Israeli drone targeted a group of Palestinian fighters in Abasan, fatally injuring Qdeih, who was identified as member of Salah Eddin Brigades, the military wing of the Popular Resistance Committees.
